Terms & privacy

Terms & conditions

There are two parts: the terms of use for the nordicsite.fi website (sections 1–3) and the general terms of service for our website projects (sections 4–14). We try to write the terms so that you can understand them without a lawyer.

1. Use of the website

The website nordicsite.fi is operated by NordicSite. You may use the site for ordinary browsing and for contacting us. The content of the site may not be copied for commercial use without our permission. We aim to keep the information up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or the accuracy of the information. Binding prices and terms are always confirmed in a written quote.

2. Copyright and images

The text, code, design and images on this site are NordicSite's own work and protected by copyright. The screenshots are from our own Merchant App. No third-party stock photos are used on the site. The NordicSite name and logo are NordicSite's marks. The Manrope typeface is licensed under the SIL Open Font License.

3. Personal data and cookies

The processing of personal data is described in the privacy policy and cookies in the cookie policy.

4. Scope and parties

These terms apply to website design, development and maintenance services between NordicSite (the “supplier”) and the customer, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The written quote and its attachments take precedence over these general terms. Our services are aimed primarily at businesses and organisations. Mandatory provisions of the Finnish Consumer Protection Act also apply to consumer customers.

5. Free demo and formation of the order

The demo is free and commits you to nothing. When you contact us, we deliver a demo preview of your site within 24 hours. The demo remains the supplier's property until the site is purchased.

A binding contract is formed only when the customer accepts the written quote (e.g. by email). The quote is valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated. If you are not satisfied with the demo, no payment obligation arises.

6. Prices and additional work

Prices are stated in euros excluding VAT unless otherwise stated. The “from” prices on the website are starting prices for the packages; the final price is confirmed in the quote according to the scope of the site. Additional work outside the quote is agreed separately before it starts.

7. Payment terms and invoicing

Invoicing is handled via the UKKO.fi light-entrepreneur service; UKKO.fi's invoicing company appears as the sender and payee of the invoice. The invoice is sent once the customer has approved the finished site. The payment term is 14 days net from the invoice date. Late-payment interest is charged in accordance with the Finnish Interest Act. Maintenance is invoiced either annually in advance (500 €) or monthly (50 €/month), as chosen.

8. Delivery and acceptance

The delivery time is agreed in the quote. The schedule assumes that the customer supplies the necessary materials (texts, images, credentials) as agreed. The customer reviews the finished site and reports any correction requests within 7 days; we fix any shortcomings within the scope of the quote free of charge. The site is deemed accepted when the customer approves it in writing or takes it into use.

9. Customer responsibilities

  • The customer is responsible for ensuring that the materials it supplies (texts, images, logos, videos) do not infringe third-party rights and that it holds the necessary usage rights.
  • The customer is responsible for the legality of the content published on the site (e.g. marketing claims, price labelling, a privacy policy for its own site).
  • The customer is responsible for its domain name and any third-party service agreements (e.g. web hosting, payment services) unless otherwise agreed.

10. Intellectual property

The right to use the site transfers to the customer once the invoice for the site has been paid in full. After that the customer may freely use, modify and transfer its site. The supplier retains the right to use general code components, tools and know-how in other projects, and the right to present the finished site as a work sample unless the customer prohibits this in writing. Material supplied by the customer remains the customer's property.

11. Maintenance and support

The maintenance service includes small text and price changes and looking after the site after launch. In the Business site and Ultimate packages maintenance is included for the first 6 months. Larger changes (new pages, new features) are priced separately. Monthly maintenance can be terminated at any time and ends at the end of the current billing month. Annual maintenance is valid for the whole invoiced year and continues one year at a time unless terminated before the new period begins. See also the cancellation & refund policy.

12. Defects and limitation of liability

The supplier corrects defects within the delivery free of charge when notified within a reasonable time. The supplier is not liable for indirect damages such as lost revenue, nor for the operation or changes of third-party services (e.g. web hosting, search engines, payment services). In all cases the supplier's liability is limited to the price paid for the delivery in question. These limitations do not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, nor to mandatory provisions of consumer protection law.

13. Merchant App software

The licence to the NordicSite Merchant App software will be sold after its launch under a separate written licence agreement, which is reviewed and accepted before installation. The software is installed in the customer's own environment; the customer acts as the controller of its customer records and, after onboarding, is responsible for backups, updates and server maintenance unless otherwise agreed.

14. Governing law and disputes

The contract is governed by Finnish law. Disputes are primarily resolved through negotiation. If no agreement is reached, the dispute is settled in the Western Uusimaa District Court (Länsi-Uudenmaan käräjäoikeus). A consumer customer may refer the matter to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi); before that, we recommend contacting the Consumer Advisory Services (kkv.fi).
